Our Objectives

1. Maintenance Supervisor shall supervise general operations of treatment plant and ensure that treated effluent discharged into the sewer meets the Trade Effluent Regulation. In case of non-compliance, he shall initiate corrective actions to improve treatment efficiency. He shall inform Engineering Manager and collectively investigate into incidents of indiscriminate discharged of concentrates from the tankyards, process mixing or other waste water collection sumps. Maintenance Technician on duty at ETP shall follow the operating procedures listed in ISO 9002 Working Instructions, W09-01-03. He shall ensure that the pH sensors are calibrated every fortnight and the calibration recorded and filed. Maintenance Technician shall collect water samples twice daily from Rinse Collection Tank and Sampling Tank; and test for COD (chemical oxygen demand) with the Hach test kit. The daily COD levels of waste water in the tanks are plotted and summarised in the monthly report for review and performance monitoring. The test vial to be marked with date, time of test and sampling point such as: (RT � rinse tank, ST � sampling tank). The test tube to be kept for 3 months before disposal. Maintenance Technician on duty at ETP shall remove sludge cake from filter press daily and discard them into designated collection bin for further disposal by a licensed waste collector. They have to further ensure contractor do not spill the sludge during transferring from collection bin to the dump truck. If there are spillage, shall ensure the contractor clean up the spills. Maintenance Supervisor shall liased with licensed contractor engaged by Material Department to collect sludge cake for proper disposal. The sludge cake is to be collected every ten working days.
